Language register

Language register is the level of formality with which you speak. Different situations and people call for different registers.

Lots of music magazines use informal language in their articles as this appeals to their audience. As my magazine is aimed at teenagers I will use informal language so they can comfortably read the magazine and not get confused by the formal language. I will try and use a style of writing that will attract and interest my audience. I will use a relaxed style when interviewing my artist and will make sure that all the text is simple and easy to understand, using similar styles to existing magazines similar to mine.
